The British government is ready to advance with employing the total value of seized Russia's assets to aid Ukraine's defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this unified step would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to participate in talks.

They clarified that the decision would be implemented in strong partnership with the America.

UK penalties have immobilized over £25bn of Russia's resources since the Russian government began its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, until now, funds provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had exclusively been sourced from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their desire to advance efforts toward utilizing the full value of the seized Russian sovereign assets to conclude the conflict.

He noted that more restrictions soon would increase the strain on Russia.

This statement comes after EU leaders met in Copenhagen last week to discuss using seized Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to take or employ immobilized Russia's holdings, according to media sources.

The value of frozen Russian holdings in the EU is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

Leader Zelensky urges UK's Sir Keir Starmer to join the Purl initiative

The Russian government carried out large-scale missile and drone strikes throughout the Ukrainian territory on that day, resulting in blackouts in many areas of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.

A pair of individuals were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were wounded in the assault, authorities in Ukraine reported.

In a post on X subsequent to the attack, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike targeted public and utility structures.

"What is required is not just talk but concrete steps - from the US, Europe, and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and applying restrictions," he wrote.

"All penalty impositions undermines Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to reporters he would urge Sir Keir to participate in the Purl scheme, under which partner nations acquire arms from the United States to donate to Ukraine.

While commending the UK's strong support for Ukraine, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the initiative, as well as apply additional restrictions on Moscow.
